Course description

Most people learn Excel in bits and pieces: a formula from a colleague, a shortcut from a video, a lot of guessing. This course takes you from opening Excel for the first time to building reports you'd be happy to show your boss, in a clear order where each lesson builds on the one before.

It's a full course, not a quick taster. There are 10 sections and over 50 short lessons, and every section comes with a practice workbook so you learn by doing, not just watching.

What you'll learn

  • Excel basics: the ribbon, workbooks, sheets, cells and the shortcuts that save you time every day.
  • Clean, readable data: formatting, number formats, borders, freezing panes and getting a sheet ready to print.
  • Formulas and functions: SUM, AVERAGE, MIN, MAX, IF, COUNTIF, SUMIF and more, plus how relative and absolute references really work.
  • Managing lots of data: sorting, filtering and Excel tables.
  • Lookups: pull information from one list into another with XLOOKUP and VLOOKUP.
  • Charts: choose the right chart and make it clear at a glance.
  • Pivot tables: turn thousands of rows into a tidy summary in seconds.
  • Fixing errors: what #DIV/0!, #N/A and #VALUE! mean and how to fix them.

Two real projects

The course finishes with two projects you build from a blank sheet: a personal monthly budget and a sales report with a pivot table and chart. By the end you'll have used every skill from the course on something practical.
